“Salubong” marks the opening of SY 2017-2018

Last July 7, the Supreme Student Government started off the new school year right by hosting a program, Salubong, to welcome both the new students and Faculty and Staff alike. With the whole student body present, the celebration took place in the Familian Covered Court and lasted for only a few hours.

Welcome remarks from the school director, Mrs. Surot, kicked off Salubong. Subsequently, Mrs. Danuya came into the podium and introduced, received and welcomed the new faces that would take the responsibility of being the mentors, teachers, and staff of the students for the school year.

Kinder to Grade 12 students showcased their talents and abilities by means of modelling and dancing to a variety of pop songs. Eager to make the students feel welcome, two bands from the high school department, Avec and Tropang Mochi, performed special songs for the newcomers.

Salubong celebrated the integration of newcomers to the Holy Family School community; whether they are a student, a teacher, or a staff, at the end of this school year, they will all have come to learn significant lessons from each other. Welcoming, accepting, and understanding one another as equal human beings will enable the school community to cooperate and make this school year another fruitful year of learning and friendship.
