Familian Spikers finish league without a scratch

The Spikers secured their third AAPS title after beating St. Joseph’s College in the championship game, 25-13, 25-7, 25-18 and afterwards gaining four individual awards, namely Best Spiker, Best Receiver, Best Setter, and season MVP.

The team smoothly swept the People of Grace Christian School’s volleyball team, 25-10, 25-8 on the first day of the league accompanied by Gwen Lubrin's 8 points.

Dominance was what the Spikers exhibited in their next game versus St. Paul University. Erin Navarro and Nirvana Ombid equipped their team with a down-the-line and a crosscourt hit, respectively, therefore beating their opponent in two sets 25-6, 25-11.

Navarro lead her team with a finishing block against Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral School last Wednesday, 25-12, 25-17 to continue their winning streak.

Keem Jacob helped keep the Spikers’ flame burning after leading with 5 points in their game against Trinity University of Asia, 25-15, 25-16 giving them their ticket to the finals.

An awarding ceremony was held consequent to the final games to recognise the best players and teams throughout the 5-day volleyball tournament hosted by Familian Spikers’ head coach, Romel Fortin.
