MYXMoves: The estimable efforts of Ensayaw

Ensayaw exhibited their expertise in dancing at the MYXMoves Street Dance Competition Semi-Finals held last September 17, 2017, competing with four other teams in the All-Girls Division at the Ayala Malls South Park.

With their piece carefully constructed, vigorously practiced, and passionately executed, Ensayaw astounded the audience, despite not securing a place in the finals, and embodied pride and glory for the entire Holy Family School committee.

Before the competition, the team was filled with emotions of nervousness mixed with joy.

“[I was] nervous kase it was my first time to compete sa Myx and it’s different kase it was our first time also to join in a competition na may elims pa,” Shamaica Verunque, the team captain of Ensayaw, shared.

After their performance, Verunque expressed her pure satisfaction and her absence of regret, due to the team spirit evident among the members, and believed that all of them share the same sentiments.

“No words could explain how happy and satisfied I am because I felt that they were satisfied din and walang regrets . . . . We have to dance our hearts out lang kase if we did, lalabas yun sa sayaw namin,” she declared.

In lieu of not bagging any award, Verunque believed that the results served as means in further motivating and inspiring the team to transform into improved dancers and members, willing to be stronger and better for future competitions.

“We were hoping na kasama [kami] sa top 3 but when we heard na ensayaw was not there, syempre we got sad kase sobrang nagfocus kami sa Myx eh like dugo't pawis nilaan namin for Myx . . . [but] we need to feel din na matalo for us to be determined lalo to strive harder [and] to train harder,” she stated.

Amidst the unending support they received, Ensayaw were grateful to all who upheld them and believed in them.

“We're dancing for the people who [continue to] support us . . . na whatever happens, there will [still] be a lot of people who will support you no matter what,” Verunque said.
