Familians take another step to the world of knowledge

With the theme, “Moving Forward to Science, Math, and Technology”, Holy Family School celebrated its annual Math-Sci-Comp Fair last September 29, 2017. Several activities were hosted for the High School and Elementary students not just for the benefit of entertainment but also to enhance one’s intellectual skills.

To commence the event, Mrs. Amang, High School Science Coordinator, shared her welcoming remarks. Subsequently, selected groups from Grades 10 to 11 showcased various Investigatory Projects that were creatively presented through tri-folds, and entertained and informed their audience by explaining the details of their projects and answering questions. Fun activities such as Amazing Links and NUMBO were held for several students from Grades 7 to 11.

Meanwhile, the Elementary Department celebrated the event through a Costume Parade presented by Grades 1 to 3 and held the programs, Little Scientist and Little Inventors, in the Familian Covered Court.

The activities in the morning ended with a short break and thereafter, students had their film viewing in their respective classrooms.

As the climax of the event, The Binibining Agham 2017 took place at the Familian Covered Court in the afternoon and students from every level in the High School Department gathered together to witness the program. Special performances from the Familian Ensemble and Ensayaw were included as part of the entertainment. Five candidates from Grades 7 to 11 competed for the title of Bb. Agham.

Each candidate presented recycled yet creative gowns which were made from the reusable materials they were assigned to use. This was to promote the Three R’s, Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle, which help the environment.

The candidates also proved that they have the intellectual skills as they answered scientific questions in the question and answer portion.

As the program came close to its conclusion, Adelaida Borras, the Bb. Agham 2016, shared her experiences as she walked gracefully in front of the crowd and finally passed the title to the next Binibining Agham.

To conclude the program, the awards and winners are the following:
