Familian Spikers continue winning streak


In an easy win over rivals, Familian Spikers continued to dominate AAPS hacking out a 25-12, 25-17 victory over ICCS at the Familian Court, last October 5. 2017.

The Familian Spikers seized control of the match in the 1st set, after struggling with errors in the first few rallies. The Familians distanced themselves with offensive and defensive plays from the open and middle spikers, turning a slim 4-3 lead to 11-5. The 1st frame ended with ICCS suffering 13-point deficit from HFS, 25-12.

HFS substituted all starters with their reserved players to start the 2nd set, only retaining libero Amorin and spiker Navarro. ICCS rallied the first few points, 2-4. First deadlock reached at 7-7, courtesy of Navarro’s offensive attack. The Familian Spikers generated momentum and took control midway, blazed a 7-point lead, 23-16. Navarro’s block after a rally sealed HFS’ 3rd win, 25-17.

The last play recognized Navarro’s offensive and defensive role, “I’m happy. Nasa akin na yung momentum na matatapos ko yung game.
