HFS community celebrate Faculty and Staff Day

Familians gathered in the Familian court last October 5, 2017 to celebrate Faculty and Staff Day. The program consisted of various performances as a tribute - a ‘thank you gift’ to the faculty and staff, with the theme “Gurong Pilipino: Kaakbay sa Progreso”.

The program started with the entrance of colors. After the Opening Prayer lead by Alyssa Falguera, the yearly faculty and staff catwalk commenced. All students put their hands together and cheered for their beloved teachers.

The series of performances started off with spoken poetry, entitled “Ilaw ng bayan”, performed by Grade 11 students Thea Monfort and Jell Gorobat.

Following that, “Flashlight” was sung by Grade 7 students Alexa Aquino and Sophia Necessario.

Shortly afterwards, a band from the Grade 9 level, Tropang Mochi, performed onstage, singing “Panalangin”.

The members of Dance Theatre took the spotlight as they put everybody in lighter spirits after their energetic performance.

Singing “Salamat”, Grade 12 students Stef Melendres and Carla Po heartwarmingly serenaded the crowd.

Before moving on to the next performance, Hosts Rianne Reyes and Queenie Baladad first interviewed some from the faculty and staff, with the question “What do you enjoy most in your profession?”

“Masaya, tuwing nakikita kong natututo mga estudyante ko, tsaka hindi sila lumalabas dahil math time. Tsaka kapag nakikita kong nahihirapan sila sa exam,” quoted from Sir Mark Sernicula, a Math teacher from the high school department.

Subsequent to the short transition, representatives Therese Miranda, Cristina Regachuelo and Renee Macling from Dulaang Salamisim performed spoken poetry, with the poem entitled “Ang Buhay ng Isang Guro”, and another, entitled “Salamat”, by Fiona Gomez and Jeniffer Gorobat.

It was followed by a lively performance by the bands Avec and Buaks, who gave their rendition of “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey and “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” by Wham! respectively.

Ensayaw once again delivered another one of their powerful and dynamic routine afterwards.

A video dedicated to the faculty and staff was shown on the projector screen, which was followed by the awarding for the faculty and staff, who all had individual strengths and talents that were acknowledged.

After the program, all students went to their respective classrooms, who surely prepared a surprise for their class advisers.
