Familians step up against bullying

Monday, November 20, 2017, after the morning assembly here at Holy Family School, the Supreme Student Government (SSG) held a 30-minute symposium about a growing concern of students, bullying. They started the Anti-Bullying Campaign with a hashtag #IamFAB which stands for “I am a Familian Against Bullying”. This was conducted to raise awareness and to eliminate bullying around the school.

The symposium started with the Philippine National Anthem conducted by the SSG Vice President, Kylie Lunas. The program was hosted by Chelzee Vasquez and Darlene Dizon. There was also an emotional interpretative dance performed by Pamela Corpuz of Grade 11. It was followed by a performance from the Dulaang Salamisim members that portrayed the hardships of being bullied.

After that, the SSG officers talked to the students about what bullying is and how they should know if they are being bullied. They also shared with the students about the need to confront the bully and find out where they are coming from, and to avoid resorting to violence.

The SSG officers, in cooperation with the Parent’s Council Central Executive Board (PCCEB) and School Discipline Committee, held a poster-making contest last October 6, 2017, with the same theme “#IamFAB, Familians Against Bullying”. The following winners were announced during the program:
