Junior and Senior High School graduates get set for new journey
On the 12th and 13th of April, respectively, the Junior High School Completion Rites and the second Graduation Ceremony of the Senior High School Program of Holy Family school were held at the Familian Court with the theme “Sharing Leadership Through Service: A Familian Legacy”.
The Junior High School Completion Rites started with a procession of the students with their parents, the faculty and staff and SSJ Sisters. Mr. Jerald Valen and Ms. Jusalyn Cangayda, the hosts, introduced Michaella Pandaan and Jullianna Estrada to lead the invocation. Mrs. Milagros Madriaga and Mrs. Rowena Palmares, the principal and assistant principal, respectively, distributed the certificates of completion to the students. The awarding of specific subjects and behaviour came soon after, now with the help of the school directress, Mrs. Teresita Arcos-Surot.
Between segments Mrs. Marian Theresia D.R Valera-Co, the guest speaker for the event, delivered a message of inspiration to the completers, which focused on the ceremony’s theme to show that by being a servant-leader, one will be able to leave a legacy, not only in school grounds, but also quite possibly, the world. The batch’s Rank 1, Allysandra Matundan, had also made a speech thanking the school’s staff for their time spent on the task of teaching and maintaining the student body, and addressing her batchmates about their lives in school and the possible futures outside it.
After the motivating speeches, Abby Pandaan led the Thanksgiving Prayer, which then gave way to the practiced numbers of the Grade 10. Performing the songs “A Million Dreams” and “There You’ll Be” to thank and acknowledge their parents, family, guardians, teachers, staff and others that helped get them in that position.
With seventy one students in total, the Senior High School Graduation Ceremony was opened by the procession of students with their parents as they marched wearing their vivid blue togas and caps. The Familian Court was filled with resounding applauses as the audience witnessed the graduates receive their diplomas that serve as a tangible certification of their years of hard work. Batch Invinc18le produced a total of 63 academic awardees; 56 graduates finished with honors while 7 students capped off with high honors.
The pledge of loyalty was led by Geraldine Pearl V. Santos, while Ms. Mary Ann Cruz preceded the alumni pledge. The guest speaker, Patricia C. Orduña M.D., shared her sentiments and experiences as she wishes to impart an inspiring message to the graduates. In her valedictory address, Jillian Nicole A. Velasco recounted how batch Invinc18le matured in how they perceive and personify servant-leaders. She expressed her gratitude to the school personnel, administration, faculty and staff, and parents on behalf of her batch. Sharisse Mae C. Molino concluded the event with a thanksgiving prayer. The graduates formally ended their journey in Holy Family School by singing their graduation songs and the school hymn for the last time.
