Familian Spikers snag championship, gathers individual awards

After the championship game, Holy Family School versus St. Paul University, an awarding ceremony was held at the Familian Court to recognize the outstanding players and coaches for this year’s Athletic Association of Private Schools in District IV.

Familians claimed numerous positions in the mythical six in both Elementary and High School Girls Division. To name these awards: Best Receiver — KC San Lorenzo, Best Setter — Stephanie Caraan, Best Spiker — Cklary Janoras, Best Blocker — Bea Nazareno, and the league’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) — Stephanie Caraan.

Meanwhile, the high school team of the Familian Spikers won Best Server—Gwen Lubrin, Best Setter—Krizan San Jose, Best Spiker—Erin Navarro, Best Blocker—Nicole Angkaw, and MVP—Erin Navarro. They offered their awards to their seniors Gwen Lubrin, Ayen Allarde, and Dane Lacay.

Spikers head coach Romel Fortin, who was hailed Best Coach for both divisions, proudly said, “Ayan sinasabi ko—hard work,” after his players received their individual titles.

Certificates of Participation were awarded to the participating schools to give light to their efforts.
