Elementary Familian Spikers suffer a loss to St. Joseph's College


On October 4, the Familian Spikers were unfortunately triumphed over by their opponent St. Joseph’s College of Quezon City, with the score 22:25, 26:28 and 5:15 for the Elementary Girls Division for AAPS 2019, held at the Familian Court.


The game started with a bleeding streak, yet they were able to break it with a service ace from Dela Cruz. The Spikers were able to get momentum. Not until SJC’s spiker was able to put a powerful attack on the team challenging the players. While in the game with a score of 10:11 Coach Romel called for a timeout to change players.


In the game with the HFS having service rights, started a tense rally between the two teams which was ended by a net error that also caused a collision of players within the Familian Spikers. And at the end of the first set SJC took the win.


The Spikers starts of the second set with a net error from the opposing team which made the players think strategically of their actions in the game. Throughout the game many team members committed many errors. In the time that one of SJC’s team members serve, this caused a rigid rally between the teams which unfortunately ended off with SJC earning the point. Moreover, this made Coach Romel called for another timeout to reconvene with the team. Afterwards, again with the service of SJC, another rally was ignited between the teams which ended up with the point to the Familian Spikers. At the end of the set, the Spikers were victorious with a score of 26:28.


At the start of the last set, the spikers were unfortunately in yet another bleeding streak. But they were able to rebound with the teamwork they accumulated in the game. Throughout the last set, the players played with all their might to bring home a win, but they were not given that favor.
