The Elementary Familian Spikers conquer the finals

The Familian Spikers triumphed victory against St. Mary’s College of Quezon City (SMQC) on October 10,2019, Thursday. With the score of 24:11,25:15,23:25 and 25:23 for the Elementary Girls Division for AAPS 2019, which was held at the Familian Court.

At the start of the first set, Familian Spikers got the upper hand which brought them a confidence in their play. Yet in the middle of the game they experienced a bleeding streak. After a serve from a member of SMQC’s team, it triggered an intense rally which brought the audience to excitement yet it ended in a point to the opposing team because of the incoordination of the Spikers. In the end of the set SMQC was victorious.

In the second set, the team was on a bleeding streak. But in the middle of it, an intense rally was started from SMQC but it ended to a point to the opposing team because of an attack error. In the game with the service of Abad it caused a collision between two members of SMQC which gave the point to the spikers. When it was Tolentino’s time to serve it ended as a service ace which created momentum in the team. With the team’s skill this caused the coach of SMQC for a timeout. The Familian Spikers won the 2nd set.

At the third set the support of the Familian community was evident. At the start of the set the team was on a bleeding streak but with the loud cheers of “Go Pame” ignited the spirits of the players. The streak was ended with a service ace from Cachero. After so with the service of one of SMQC’s players started an intense rally which in end with the receive of Tubio gave the Spikers the point. The game had a loud and active crowd which inspired the players to play with the best of their capabilities.

In the near end of the set it was very evident that everyone in the court was tensed because the spikers were at 24:23. But with the service of Tolentino it brought out a win for the Familian community.
